Olympic wrestling champion Gable Steveson is set to make his highly anticipated debut in Real American Freestyle (RAF) next month, returning to his roots in wrestling.
Following the rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Giorgio Poulas in March, RAF continues to put together exciting matchups. It was revealed last month that Steveson had signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion.
It has now been officially confirmed that he will headline RAF 09, scheduled for May 30 at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
In his debut, Steveson will face former UFC heavyweight fighter Alexander Romanov. The Moldovan posted a 7–3 record in the UFC before leaving the promotion in 2024. Overall, he holds a 21–4 MMA record and has competed in organizations such as PFL and RAF, most recently facing Rodrigo Nascimento.
The clash between an elite wrestler and a proven MMA fighter adds significant intrigue to the event and will serve as a key test for Steveson’s future in combat sports.
