Olympic freestyle wrestling gold medalist Kyle Snyder has put an end to speculation about a potential transition to MMA, stating that he has no plans to step into the octagon.
Despite years of being asked whether he would make the jump to UFC, the American admitted he had considered the idea but has now decided to remain in wrestling.
“I’ve thought about it,” Snyder told MMA Junkie Radio. “The first live fight I ever attended was in Cleveland when Stipe Miocic knocked out his opponent. The atmosphere was incredible, and I told myself I’d like to experience something like that one day.”
However, Snyder emphasized that the idea remained only a personal interest rather than a real career plan.
“Since then, I’ve been to many UFC events and I enjoy the sport. One of my good friends, Bo Nickal, fights there. But I don’t think MMA is part of my path,” he added.
The American noted that his focus remains entirely on wrestling and his future development in the sport.
“I’ll stay in wrestling and see where life takes me,” Snyder concluded.
