The fierce rivalry between Colby Covington and Khamzat Chimaev has followed them from the UFC to the freestyle wrestling mats, but both athletes are handling it with professional distance. Ahead of their highly anticipated outings at Real American Freestyle (RAF 13), Covington opened up about the current dynamic between them.

Covington made it clear that he and Chimaev are completely ignoring each other during fight week. He openly stated that they will never be friends and cannot stand to be in the same room together. However, as one of the owners of the RAF promotion, Covington looks at the situation through a business lens.

Because Chimaev is actively competing on the RAF mats, Covington respects his hustle. "Chaos" explained that he fully supports any competitor who steps up, puts on a show, and helps build the organization. Even though a future super-fight between the two has been leaked for Abu Dhabi, Covington is keeping it strictly business for now.
