Frank Chamizo could transfer to MMA after Tokyo 2021

One of the most talented freestyle wrestlers of our generation - Italy's Frank Chamizo, could be switching the mat with the Octagon following next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The two-time world champion is the main adversary of the American Jordan Burroughs, but according to Ben Askren, Chamizo will make a push in mixed martial arts after Tokyo 2021.

Frank Chamizo is born in Cuba and he is a close friend of UFC middleweight Yoel Romero.

A couple of weeks ago Ben Askren himself announced that Chamizo will be moving to professional MMA, but the 4-time European champion is still not giving a YES or NO to the question.

"MMA drives me crazy: I love the atmosphere that is created in the arenas. In the USA, they often ask me if I want to do it. My answer is always that now I’m focused only on Tokyo 2021 but anything is possible in the future. I’m not sure about leaving what I have for an uncertain future.”
