Guatemala City to host the 2021 Wrestling Senior Pan Am Championships

Due to concerns about its nation’s COVID situation the Brazilian Wrestling Federation recently announced they wouldn’t be able to organize the 2021 Senior Pan-American Championships.

After presenting their sanitary protocols to the Executive Committee of the United World Wrestling Bureau, it was decided that Guatemala City will organize the 2021 Senior Pan-American Championships on May 27-30 — the same dates as already scheduled for Brazil.

Initially, the prestigious event was scheduled for Rio de Janeiro. Four editions of the Championships have previously been held in Guatemala City - in 1993 and then three consecutive editions in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
