Jon Jones broke the tough Stipe Miocic at UFC 309

Jon Jones (28:1) retained his UFC heavyweight title at the long waited fight with Stipe Miocic (20:5) in New York with a third round TKO.

The 42 years old proved to be in great shape for this bout but once again the strategy made the difference for Bones.

He landed some heavy body shots and with one nasty spinning back kick to the liver he dropped Stipe to the ground and finished him with ground and pound.

This is the first title defense for Jones after his victory against Ciryl Gane back in early 2023 and his long recovery from the pictorial muscle injury he suffered before UFC 295.

After the bout Miocic announced his retirement from competitive fighting.
