Major developments are expected on the global MMA scene after it was revealed that the PFL is ready to partner with the Japanese organization RIZIN. The potential collaboration could have serious implications for fighters in both leagues, opening new opportunities for international exposure.
RIZIN director Nobuyuki Sakakibara confirmed that talks between the two sides are at an advanced stage.
“I think we will be able to share good news with all the fans in the near future,” he said, hinting at an official announcement of the partnership.
Sakakibara was even more specific about his vision for the cooperation.
“I would like to create a fighter exchange. Fighters from RIZIN going to PFL, and fighters from PFL coming to RIZIN. That’s how we want to work together.”
Such a model would allow fighters under contract with one organization to temporarily compete in the other. For many, this would be a chance to showcase their skills in front of a new audience and build a stronger international profile.
