Anthony Hernandez says Sean Strickland’s controversial attempt to promote their UFC Fight Night 267 main event didn’t get under his skin.
After Strickland posted a photoshopped image on Instagram depicting Hernandez in traditional Mexican clothing, Hernandez brushed it off, calling the post “messed up” but ineffective.
“If that’s the best he’s got to get in my head, it’s going to be a long night,” Hernandez said. “I just hope he brings that same energy into the cage.”
Set to fight in Houston, Hernandez says he’s feeling strong support from the city’s Latino community but remains focused on his performance rather than an early finish.
“I’m going to go out there and do what I do best,” he said. “If the finish comes, great. If not, I’m ready to break him down for all 25 minutes.”
