Chimaev: Tsarukyan deserves a title fight, but strange things are happening in the UFC

Undefeated 31-year-old UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev, representing the UAE, has backed the view that the second-ranked lightweight contender, Arman Tsarukyan, deserves a shot at the UFC championship.

“I think Arman has long deserved a shot at the title. But, you know, sometimes strange things happen in the UFC” Chimaev was quoted as saying by Dovy on X’s social media account.

Arman Tsarukyan is 29 years old. The Russian-Armenian MMA fighter’s professional record includes 23 wins, 15 of which came by stoppage, and three losses.

The Akhalkalaki native made his professional mixed martial arts debut in September 2015 and began training with the UFC in April 2019. He is a master of sports in freestyle wrestling and MMA.
