The flyweight title bout at UFC 327 has officially been announced. On April 11 in Miami, champion Joshua Van will defend his belt against Japanese contender Tatsuro Taira.
Van (16–2) won the title in his most recent Octagon appearance in December, when he defeated Alexandre Pantoja after the Brazilian broke his arm in the opening round. The fighter from Myanmar thus climbed to the top of the division and is now set for his first title defense.
Taira (18–1) is also coming off an impressive victory, having stopped Brandon Moreno via TKO in December to earn his shot at the belt.
The clash in Miami will pit two of the most dynamic fighters in the lightest men’s division against each other.
