The former two-division Ultimate Fighting Championship champion has revealed that he is in negotiations for a return to the octagon.
“I’m in talks with the UFC about a fight — at the White House or at another event next summer. McGregor will return,” the Irishman said.
The planned UFC event at the White House in Washington is scheduled for June 14, marking the 80th birthday of Donald Trump. The gala is expected to be one of the most talked-about sporting events of the year.
The 37-year-old McGregor holds a professional mixed martial arts record of 22 wins and 6 losses. In recent years, his career has been marked by injuries and lengthy layoffs, but a potential return would once again generate major interest in the UFC.
