Donald Trump Backs Ultimate Fighting Championship Event at the White House

The U.S. president expects a spectacular show marking the 250th anniversary of American independence.

U.S. President Donald Trump has voiced his support for the upcoming UFC event planned to take place in front of the White House in Washington.

In an interview with Jake Paul, Trump praised UFC president Dana White and the idea of organizing the tournament near the White House.

“It’s going to be incredible. Dana White is a great guy. He came up with the idea to hold this event right at the doorstep of the White House. Everyone wants to fight there. It will be tied to the 250th anniversary of American independence. It looks like all the best fighters will be there,” Trump said.

The gala is scheduled for June 14, when the president will also celebrate his 80th birthday, and it is expected to become one of the most expensive events in UFC history.

Among the main bouts are a fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane, as well as a lightweight title clash between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.
