Dana White speaks about Makhachev’s next opponent

UFC president Dana White answered a question about a possible next opponent for 34-year-old Russian fighter Islam Makhachev, the current UFC welterweight (77 kg) champion.

“Will Ian Garry be Islam Makhachev’s next opponent? Islam is recovering from a hand injury. Once he is ready, we’ll decide what happens next,” White said.

Islam Makhachev is currently on a 16-fight winning streak in the UFC. He has a professional record of 28 wins and one loss.

The Russian’s most recent fight took place at UFC 322 in New York, where he faced Jack Della Maddalena. The UFC welterweight title was on the line, and Makhachev won the bout by unanimous decision.
