Merab Dvalishvili has revealed that he is aiming to complete his trilogy with Petr Yan in the summer of 2026.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the Georgian fighter outlined a realistic timeline for the highly anticipated third bout.
“The realistic option is July or August. Petr already said he’s healthy and ready to fight in June, but there’s an event at the White House scheduled for June and we won’t be on that card. After June, in July or August, when the UFC needs us, Petr and I will be ready,” Dvalishvili said.
He added that his ideal scenario would be to fight during International Fight Week.
“If the fight happens in July during International Fight Week, my dream will come true. My opponent will definitely be Petr, because this is a trilogy,” he added.
The rivalry is currently tied, with Yan winning their most recent bout in December to claim the bantamweight title, while Dvalishvili was victorious in their first meeting.
Yan has recently recovered from a back injury, opening the door for a decisive third fight between the two.
