Jon Jones Returns to Face Pereira at the White House

Gane out with injury, Trump reportedly involved in negotiations

Jon Jones Returns to Face Pereira at the White House

Just hours before the official announcement of the final card for UFC Freedom 250, the MMA world was shaken by an unexpected twist. Ciryl Gane has been forced out of the event due to injury and will no longer face Alex Pereira for the interim heavyweight title.

The real shock, however, is the name of his replacement—Jon Jones.

According to sources close to the negotiations, the former champion has reached an agreement with the UFC and will return for a blockbuster clash against Pereira at the historic White House event on June 14.

The news comes only weeks after Jones publicly requested his release from the organization, citing unfavorable contract terms and health concerns, including arthritis in his hip. Despite that, it appears both sides managed to resolve their differences at the last moment.

According to the same sources, former U.S. President Donald Trump was also involved in the negotiations, offering to act as a mediator between Jones and Dana White.

“Jon is a great fighter. The best. And I love the best. We’re going to make this happen,” Trump had previously said in interviews.

If officially confirmed, the fight between Jones and Pereira could become one of the biggest events in UFC history.
