Former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili has revealed that he has broken his nose again—this time during a sparring session.
The Georgian shared photos on Instagram showing significant swelling before seeking medical attention.
“What a beautiful day and what a stupid accident. Again, 12 years later, my nose is even more broken. As you can see, it’s cracked even worse in the same direction. When I touch it, the bones are broken inside, and on one side I can’t even breathe. Now I’m going to get an X-ray,” Dvalishvili said.
He expressed confidence that the UFC will assist him, despite not having a fight currently scheduled:
“I’m sure the UFC will help me with this. I’ll try to get surgery to fix my nose, and we’ll see how it goes.”
Dvalishvili also recalled that the first time he broke his nose was during his professional debut, but this time the injury occurred in training:
“The first time I broke my nose was in my debut. This time it was just sparring—I got hit with a knee.”
He is expected to undergo further examinations to determine whether surgery will be necessary.
