Carlos Ulberg knows exactly what his key task will be against Jiří Procházka—to avoid getting drawn into his opponent’s chaotic style.
The two are set to face off on April 11 in Miami in the main event of UFC 327, with the vacant light heavyweight title on the line.
Ulberg (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) believes discipline will be the deciding factor against the unpredictable Procházka (32-5-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC):
“Jiří is obviously the chaotic fighter. It’s chaos versus order. That’s this fight,” he told MMA Junkie.
The New Zealander emphasized that he has been preparing for a matchup like this for a long time and has closely followed potential opponents:
“We’ve always been watching Jiří. We’ve been preparing for this fight for years. I’ve beaten some of the other contenders, so now it’s just him left.”
Procházka is known for his unorthodox style and relentless aggression inside the octagon, often putting his opponents in difficult situations. The only fighter to defeat him in the UFC so far is Alex Pereira.
Now Ulberg will try to impose control and strategy in order to neutralize the “chaos” and walk away with the championship belt.
