Carlos Ulberg knocked out Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 327 in Miami, Florida, capturing the vacant light heavyweight title.
The New Zealander secured the victory via TKO in the first round (3:45), despite suffering a knee injury during the fight.
Ulberg started aggressively with kicks, while Prochazka responded with forward pressure and wild attacks. During one exchange, Ulberg visibly injured his knee and lost balance multiple times, even falling to the canvas.
The Czech fighter tried to capitalize on the situation and pressed forward, even inviting Ulberg to continue exchanging strikes on the feet. However, in a decisive moment, he walked into a powerful counter shot that dropped him.
Ulberg seized the opportunity and finished the fight with a barrage of strikes on the ground.
With this win, Ulberg recorded his tenth consecutive MMA victory and climbed to the top of the 205-pound division. For Prochazka, this marks his third loss in a title fight.
