Trump Proposes New Name for White House UFC Event

Could the UFC event at the White House be renamed just two months before it takes place? The idea is already on the table.

During a conversation with reporters on Monday, Donald Trump was asked whether the upcoming June 14 show on the South Lawn should receive a more symbolic name — UFC 1776, a reference to the year of American independence.

“That’s a good idea. I’ll mention it to Dana White. I actually like it,” Trump responded.

However, the event has already been officially announced as UFC Freedom 250 — a name that marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and has been actively used in promotions since early March.

A potential name change this close to the event could prove problematic, given the scale of organisation and marketing behind the unique fight card. It remains unclear whether Dana White and UFC leadership will seriously consider such a move.
