Charles Jourdain recorded a valuable victory over Kyler Phillips in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 273, held in Canada. The bout lived up to expectations and delivered action both on the feet and on the ground, but in the end Jourdain convinced the judges and won by unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 29–28).
Phillips started more actively and relied on his wrestling, managing to secure several takedowns and control his opponent in the first part of the fight. However, Jourdain demonstrated excellent defense and persistence, gradually finding his rhythm.
As the bout progressed, the Canadian began to set the pace in striking, landing cleaner and more dangerous shots. He showed variety in his attacks—punch combinations, body and head kicks, as well as submission attempts.
In the final round, Jourdain looked like the fresher fighter, and it was his activity and more effective striking that tipped the scales in his favor. Despite Phillips’ efforts in wrestling, he was unable to maintain control long enough to sway the judges’ scorecards.
With this victory, Jourdain strengthened his position in the division and added another impressive win to his record after a true war in the Octagon.
