Lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan issued a direct challenge to UFC champion Ilia Topuria, urging him to agree to a fight immediately after his bout with Justin Gaethje on June 14. Tensions between the two continue to rise after Topuria downplayed Tsarukyan’s chances.
“We’ll see what happens in the fight. We’ll see if I can stop him. I can beat anyone… He just needs to sign the contract right after this fight,” Tsarukyan said in an interview with Ariel Helwani.
The Armenian fighter also questioned the champion’s intentions to move up a division for a potential clash with Islam Makhachev, suggesting it could be an attempt to avoid facing him.
“Why is he avoiding the fight if he’s so confident?” Tsarukyan asked, emphasizing that he is ready to prove himself against the best in the division.
