UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje added even more tension ahead of their clash at UFC White House – Freedom 250.
During the final face-off, Topuria shoved his opponent, prompting immediate intervention from UFC President Dana White to prevent the situation from escalating.
Despite the incident, the atmosphere remained relatively calm, with both fighters maintaining smiles throughout their verbal exchange.
Gaethje addressed the champion with a grin, saying:
"You're acting like an animal. Like a little animal."
Topuria quickly fired back with confidence:
"The championship belt looks better on me."
The two will meet in the main event of UFC White House – Freedom 250, where the undisputed UFC lightweight championship will be on the line.
Topuria enters the bout with an undefeated record and a string of impressive victories, while Gaethje will be looking to capture the undisputed title after previously winning the interim belt.
