Undefeated UFC welterweight contender Ian Machado Garry has officially secured a commercial partnership with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Talent Agency. Announced just weeks before his scheduled title fight against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330, the strategic alliance marks a significant expansion into mixed martial arts for the prominent British boxing promoter.

Unlike UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who signed a full-scope advisory contract with Matchroom earlier this year, Garry’s arrangement focuses exclusively on brand development. The agency will handle marketing, external sponsorships, and commercial partnerships. Meanwhile, Vayner Sports retains full management of Garry's athletic contracts and direct negotiations with the UFC. Hearn confirmed the boundary, stating that Matchroom will not engage with the UFC regarding fight agreements.

The signing adds fresh momentum to the ongoing corporate rivalry between Matchroom and UFC CEO Dana White. White has previously criticized Hearn’s involvement with MMA athletes, notably labeling Aspinall’s representation deal as counterproductive. Although Garry clarified that his alignment is strictly business and independent of UFC politics, introducing another elite mixed martial artist to Hearn's roster underscores Matchroom’s growing footprint in the combat sports market.

Hearn initiated the partnership directly, citing Garry's crossover appeal, marketability, and communication skills as prime assets for global brand scaling. The agency aims to replicate the financial success it achieved with Aspinall, who generated substantial external revenue under Matchroom's guidance. Garry celebrated the expansion on social media, framing the corporate alliance as the next step in his professional growth.
