Endy Semeleer Secures First-Round Stoppage in MMA Debut

AMSTERDAM — Former GLORY welterweight and three-weight Enfusion champion Endy "Bad News" Semeleer made his professional mixed martial arts debut at Levels Fight League 23 (LFL 23). Competing in a 162-pound catchweight co-main event, the Curaçaoan-Dutch fighter faced veteran competitor Ronny Gomez at the Mediahaven venue in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Semeleer entered the cage just one month after publicly announcing his transition to mixed martial arts, following a highly decorated kickboxing career that yielded 40 professional victories. Originally scheduled to face Joshua Adeboye, a late opponent change brought Gomez into the matchup on short notice.

The bout concluded in the opening round without reaching the three-minute mark. Semeleer utilized his striking background to pressure Gomez before finishing the fight on the ground and securing the win at exactly 2:52 of Round 1. The official method of victory was ruled a TKO via submission to strikes, as ground-and-pound punches forced Gomez to tap out.

The victory marks a very successful start to Endy Semeleer's career and time will tell whether he will be capable of replicating the huge achievements which other former Glory stars such as Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira managed to book in the course of their UFC careers.
