Initiating the digital onslaught, Kelly posted an Instagram carousel featuring footage of McGregor’s cage mishap alongside photos of their infamous 2021 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet altercation. He captioned the post with a sharp reference to his own lyrics, mockingly stating that McGregor's knees were weak from old age and that the fighter could no longer stand up.
The public reaction to Kelly's comments was mixed, with numerous onlookers criticizing the artist for mocking an athlete immediately after a traumatic physical setback. In response to the backlash, Kelly published a follow-up video explicitly refusing to apologize for his statements. Paraphrasing McGregor’s own famous post-fight phrase, the musician stated he would apologize for "absolutely nothing," explaining that the hostility is simply how their feud operates because they genuinely dislike each other.
Kelly further dismissed critics who pointed out that McGregor is only one year older than him, asserting that they had aged differently and joking that his own knees were in excellent condition.
