Makhachev Dismisses Ian Garry's Training with Charles Oliveira

Current UFC Welterweight Champion Islam Makhachev has sent a blunt message to his next title challenger, Ian Machado Garry. In a recent interview, Makhachev was asked about Garry's decision to prepare for their upcoming championship fight alongside former lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira.

Makhachev completely dismissed any tactical advantage Garry might gain from the partnership, delivering a sharp psychological jab instead. He stated that Oliveira is only going to teach Garry how to tap out fast.

The comment directly references their past encounter, where Makhachev famously defeated Oliveira by submission. While Garry is intentionally using Oliveira's historic grappling skills to prepare for the champion's elite ground game, Makhachev insists the strategy will fail. The champion intends to stick to his usual plan of executing dominant takedowns, promising that Garry will suffer the exact same fate as his past opponents.
