McGregor’s return to the Octagon after a five-year break ended in just 69 seconds. His knee buckled after throwing a kick against Max Holloway, forcing an early stoppage. Reflecting on this sudden ending in an interview with Complex Sports, Makhachev admitted, "Honestly, I feel bad."

While Makhachev expected Holloway to win the match, he was disappointed by how quickly it finished. He explained that, like millions of fight fans, he was genuinely curious to see how McGregor would perform after so many years away from the sport.
