Conor McGregor on His Way to Fifth Career Surgery: ''Wish Me Luck!''

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor told his fans on Instagram that he is heading back to the hospital. He needs surgery to fix a major knee injury from his recent fight at UFC 329. Standing in front of a refrigerator full of Mac Energy drinks, the famous fighter spoke directly to the camera to share the news.

"Off to get surgery today, so wish me well," McGregor said in the video posted on August 4, 2026. In the text under the video, he wrote that this is the fifth surgery of his professional career. Doctors need to repair a torn ACL and a torn meniscus in his knee. The injury happened during his quick 69-second loss to Max Holloway.

Before leaving for the medical facility, McGregor used the moment to show off his new business product. "I'm gonna fuel up with a Mac Energy today," he said, pulling an Orange Creamsicle flavor out of his fridge. He held up the can to showcase the brand to the camera, while saying: ''Let's go! We've got this!''.

McGregor remained highly optimistic about his recovery in the post's caption, writing: "Well folks, here we go again! Surgery number 5 of my career coming up! All things considered that is an ok number! Let’s do it, WE GOT THIS!" He concluded his message with the hashtags #Confident, #Determined, and #Believer.
