Diego Ferreira Eyes UFC Longevity Inspired by Glover Teixeira

Diego Ferreira believes he still has plenty left to offer after earning a unanimous decision victory over Billy Quarantillo and a Fight of the Night bonus at UFC Fight Night 284.

The 42-year-old lightweight snapped a two-fight losing streak with one of his strongest performances in years, rocking Quarantillo several times across three dominant rounds.

Inspired by former UFC champion Glover Teixeira, Ferreira isn't thinking about retirement anytime soon.

"Glover fought until he was 45 or 46, so why not? Maybe I can go even longer," Ferreira said. "I'll talk with my family, but I definitely have a few more years left."

Ferreira admitted he was surprised Quarantillo absorbed his biggest punches without going down but praised his own conditioning throughout the 15-minute battle.

After pocketing a $100,000 bonus, Ferreira is already targeting another veteran opponent. His preferred choices are Bobby Green or Jim Miller, with hopes of returning before the end of the year.

"I want to fight Bobby Green. We were supposed to fight before, but it never happened. Bobby Green or Jim Miller would be great. I'm healthy and I want to get back in the Octagon as soon as possible."
