Islam Makhachev: ''I Will Humble Ian Garry!''

Islam Makhachev is getting ready to put his welterweight title on the line for the very first time. Speaking on the official UFC 330 Countdown show, the pound-for-pound king shared his honest thoughts about his upcoming opponent, Ian Machado Garry. Makhachev stated that he believes Garry is actually a good person who just acts like a "bad guy" to get attention from MMA fans. However, the champion added a serious warning. Makhachev promised that if Garry is not truly a humble guy deep down, he will personally humble him inside the Octagon.

Defending his belt in the 170-pound division brings exciting new challenges for the dominant champion. Makhachev pointed out that the top contenders in this heavier weight class are very big guys. He explained that this size difference is exactly what makes the upcoming challenge so interesting for him and the fans.

Even on a lighter rest day, Makhachev stayed busy by doing fast running sprints and training exercises with a rubber resistance band. The toughest part of his day came during recovery.
