Ian Machado Garry Will Have a Significant Height Advantage Over Makhachev

The Irishman stands 13 centimeters taller than the champion ahead of their UFC 330 title fight

Ian Machado Garry will have a significant physical advantage when he faces Islam Makhachev at UFC 330 on August 15. The two fighters faced off in front of Philadelphia’s iconic Rocky statue, where the difference in their size was impossible to miss.

According to the official measurements, Garry is 13 centimeters taller than Makhachev. The fight will mark the Russian’s first title defense at welterweight after he defeated Jack Della Maddalena to claim the belt following his highly successful run in the lightweight division.

Garry, meanwhile, enters the bout on the back of consecutive victories over Carlos Prates and Belal Muhammad and will look to use his physical advantages against the champion.

UFC 330 will take place at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. In the co-main event, Mackenzie Dern will make the first defense of her strawweight title against Gillian Robertson.

Dern captured the vacant belt with a victory over Virna Jandiroba in October, while former champion Zhang Weili moved up to the flyweight division. Robertson earned her status as the No. 1 contender after recording five consecutive victories since 2024.
