Ian Machado Garry refused to let his first championship defeat dampen his spirits, taking straight to social media with a self-shot video just moments after leaving the Octagon at UFC 330. Filming himself on his phone from his dressing room, the 28-year-old Irish welterweight delivered a raw, direct message to his global fan base. Despite losing a clear five-round unanimous decision to pound-for-pound king Islam Makhachev in Philadelphia, Garry appeared remarkably upbeat and entirely at peace with the performance. 

Addressing the camera directly, Garry conceded that it simply was not his night but fiercely defended his performance. He noted that he pushed arguably the greatest fighter in the world to the absolute wire, stating he felt proud of his team. Rather than making excuses for the loss, the Dublin native emphasized his youth and long-term potential in the division.

Garry specifically told his followers that his mind remains completely bulletproof despite the setback. He promised an immediate return to training and vowed that this experience would serve as the foundation for a future title run. While critics and UFC executives questioned his high level of respect toward Makhachev during the bout, Garry’s immediate self-shot video proved that his self-belief remains entirely unshaken.
