Daniel Cormier Urges Free Agent Usman Nurmagomedov to Join the UFC

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier is actively recruiting undefeated lightweight superstar Usman Nurmagomedov to join the world's biggest mixed martial arts promotion. The highly anticipated interaction occurred backstage during the fight week for UFC 330.

Nurmagomedov, who currently holds a perfect 22-0 professional record, recently became the most sought-after free agent in the sport after completing his contract with the Professional Fighters League. While visiting the arena, the 28-year-old champion crossed paths with Cormier, who also trains closely with the Dagestani team at the American Kickboxing Academy.

In a casual backstage video captured by media outlets, Cormier did not hold back and pressed Nurmagomedov directly about making the big move. Shaking hands with the young fighter, Cormier told him that it is now time to stop wasting time and focus purely on his athletic legacy. The former two-division UFC champion playfully challenged Nurmagomedov over past comments regarding the quality of UFC fighters. Cormier jokingly told him that if he really thinks the top UFC lightweights are bums, he should sign the contract and prove it inside the Octagon. Nurmagomedov smiled warmly at the advice and seemed to agree with the legendary fighter. UFC CEO Dana White has already expressed huge interest in signing the undefeated phenom.
