When questioned about PFL promoter Jake Paul—who frequently criticizes UFC CEO Dana White regarding fighter pay—Nurmagomedov bluntly challenged Paul to prove his own financial generosity now that the ball is in his court. Helwani noted that the exact moment Nurmagomedov called out Paul, it became obvious the Dagestani star was planning his departure.

With his PFL contract officially completed, the 28-year-old champion is one of the most coveted free agents in mixed martial arts.
