Former UFC star Chael Sonnen delivered a sharp reality check to a group of internet pranksters during a recent appearance on The Matan Show. The digital broadcast, hosted by viral content creator Matan Even, is known for trying to push boundaries and annoy its celebrity guests for online views.
The studio environment grew highly unpredictable when Even’s entourage attempted an unscripted stunt featuring a prankster pretending to be former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Instead of getting angry, Sonnen maintained his composure, smiled, and willingly went down to the studio floor with one of the show's crew members. He used the moment to safely demonstrate how quickly a professional fighter can secure a leg lock and neutralize an untrained civilian.
Online rumors quickly exaggerated the interaction, falsely claiming a real fight or a painful injury had taken place. In reality, the submission demonstration remained entirely safe, controlled, and friendly. Sonnen later discussed the interview on his own YouTube channel, laughing off the stunt but admitting the young pranksters did an excellent job of testing his professional patience.
