UFC Removes Michael “Venom” Page from Official Rankings

The British fan-favorite enters free agency after finishing his contract.

British MMA star Michael “Venom” Page has been officially removed from the UFC rankings. The news broke after combat sports journalist John Morgan shared an official notice sent by the promotion to its ranking voters.

The move happened right after Page fought the last match on his current contract at UFC Paris. In that fight, the 39-year-old striker won a decision against Nursulton Ruziboev. However, the crowd booed the slow-paced match, and Page later admitted that UFC bosses were probably unhappy with his safe performance.

Even with this quiet exit, Page leaves the world's biggest MMA promotion with a solid 5-1 record. His only loss in the UFC came against top contender Ian Machado Garry in a very close match. During his time in the Octagon, Page picked up big wins against well-known fighters like Kevin Holland, Shara Magomedov, and Jared Cannonier. However, all of his UFC victories came from judges' decisions rather than dramatic knockouts. Now that Page is officially a free agent, major rival leagues like the PFL are expected to try and sign the popular veteran.
