The short partnership between the UFC and British fighter Michael Page is officially over. Following a series of slow fights, UFC management decided to let the veteran fighter leave and enter free agency.
The news became public after the UFC removed Page's name from its official ranking system. Speaking to reporters after a recent live event, UFC CEO Dana White made it clear that the company has no plans to offer the fighter a new contract. White explained that Page's deal simply ran out after his last fight, meaning the organization no longer has any professional ties with him.
During his short time with the company, the former kickboxing star struggled to deliver the exciting performances that made him famous. Page actually won five out of his six UFC fights, but his recent performances were lacking too much excitement. This style failed to impress both UFC management and fight fans. During his tenure, Page moved back and forth between different weight classes and delivered what he admitted were underwhelming performances
Now that he is officially off the UFC roster, the 39-year-old fighter will look for new opportunities with other MMA promotions around the world.
