Conor McGregor Promises Big Revenge After Breaking Knee in Shocking UFC Fight

The Irish UFC star plans a slow and careful recovery to make the greatest comeback in sports history.

Famous UFC fighter Conor McGregor is highly motivated to get revenge against Max Holloway. Their big rematch at UFC 329 was supposed to be McGregor's grand return after five years away from the cage. Instead, it ended in disaster just 69 seconds into the very first round when McGregor badly injured his knee while trying a jumping kick.

Speaking on his MAC Energy YouTube channel, McGregor explained that he let his emotions get the best of him. He was so excited to be back that he just wanted to run forward and throw a wild attack. Even though his surgery went well and he is already walking without crutches ahead of schedule, the Irish star says he will not rush back this time. He remembers rushing a similar knee injury ten years ago, so he plans to wait a full 9 to 12 months to heal completely, targeting a return next summer.

McGregor also expressed anger over how the fight was stopped. He blamed Holloway for looking at the referee and asking him to stop the match instead of trying to finish the fight himself. Down but not out, McGregor stated that this painful setback is fueling his fire to prove everyone wrong.
