Share on FacebookUFC lightweight star Michael Chandler made a bold prediction during his recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. Chandler is picking rising prospect Mauricio Ruffy to defeat top-ranked contender Arman Tsarukyan in their highly anticipated matchup.
Chandler shared his first-hand experience, reminding fans that he actually fought Ruffy, struggling to take him down before being stopped by a devastating knockout. While Benoit Saint Denis previously managed to ground the Brazilian, Chandler believes Tsarukyan faces a unique challenge.
Although Tsarukyan has kept himself busy competing in professional wrestling and grappling matches, he has not stepped inside an official MMA cage since his victory over Dan Hooker. Chandler warns that this lengthy layoff from real mixed martial arts competition, combined with Ruffy's terrifying striking power and momentum, creates the perfect recipe for a massive upset.
