Justin Gaethje Responds to Ilia Topuria's Claims

The lightweight champion shuts down the glove-tampering accusations, calling them a "lame excuse" for a poor performance.

UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje quickly responded to the serious accusations made by Ilia Topuria on X (formerly Twitter). Topuria had claimed that Gaethje used loaded gloves during their June title fight at UFC Freedom 250.

Gaethje completely dismissed the cheating claims, mocking the former champion for taking months to justify his loss. "94 days and the best you could come up with is a lame excuse," Gaethje wrote on his official account. He added that the allegation was "as terrible as your last performance" and told Topuria to "do better kid."

Addressing the viral rumors about his heavy striking power in a separate clip, Gaethje added: “People saying I got bricks in my f*cking gloves, what a compliment.” No athletic commissions or officials have ever found evidence of wrongdoing regarding Gaethje's equipment.
