Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett and Luke Riley stole the show in the crowd at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas during Dana White’s Contender Series. The British fighters flew out to support their teammate, George Staines, who was fighting in the main event. A viral video posted by the UFC caught Pimblett and Riley jumping out of their seats, screaming, and hugging as Staines won his fight in just over a minute.
Staines kept his undefeated record alive by lifting his opponent, Loai Abushaar, and slamming him hard onto the canvas. The heavy impact took Abushaar out of the fight immediately, allowing Staines to follow up with quick ground punches to end the match at the 1:01 mark. Cageside cameras caught Pimblett and Riley going absolutely frantic, high-fiving and shouting over the barrier to celebrate the victory. The dominant performance instantly earned Staines a life-changing contract to fight in the UFC.
The passionate reaction highlights the tight bond at the Next Generation MMA gym in Liverpool, where Staines regularly helps Pimblett prepare for his own fights. Backstage after the victory, Pimblett kept the good energy going by joking around with his teammate. "That was a heavy knockout," Pimblett told Staines with a laugh. "You know you can't knock me out. You know I don't get knocked out."
