Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson at UFC 264

An intriguing welterweight matchup has been announced for the upcoming UFC 264 event.

Two former welterweight challengers - Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompsons will be squaring off in the co-main event of the fight night which is set for July 10.

UFC 264 will be headlined by the trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.

The Brazilian is coming off his first title fight. The 34-year-old lost via TKO by the champ Kamaru Usman in February and is now on a mission to redeem himself.

His American adversary is on a two-fight winning streak. The 38-year-old vet bagged two bonuses in his victories against Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal.
