Taekwondo Club Neron took part in the Slovenia Open 2026 - one of the most prestigious taekwondo tournaments held in Europe. This year the tournament was of the G2/E2 rank.
This attracted quite a few elite competitors from all over the continent and the competition was at a high level. Representatives of Taekwondo Club Neron were Nikol Petrova, Dancho Petkov and Ivaylo Petrov.
Ivaylo Petrov, Cadets -37 kg, became the champion after 4 tough fights, eliminating national competitors from Poland and Germany on his way.
Dancho Petkov, Cadets -33 kg, started with a convincing victory over a representative of Germany. In the semi-final fight, he left no chance for the Polish national and qualified for the final. There he met an already familiar competitor from Belgium. Although Dancho managed to fight his way through and take the first round, he lost in the next two to the bigger and more experienced Belgian.
Nikol Petrova, Cadets - 37 kg, entered the battle with a representative of the Serbian national team. Nikol gave her all and after exchanging one round, she gave way to her opponent in the third decider and thus remained one step away from the medals, but gained valuable experience from the match.
