Tomorrow at 12:00 is the official opening of the International Olympic Taekwondo Tournament European Grand Prix Open Ramus E6 for juniors and cadets.
The competition in the capital's "Asics Arena" hall is organized by the Taekwondo Club "Ramus", together with the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation (Olympic version) and the European Taekwondo Union.
A similar tournament in these age groups and of this rank has not been held in Bulgaria so far, which further raises the authority of our country on the international map of taekwondo. The interest is great, over 1000 competitors from nearly 230 clubs from 40 countries are expected, which is a prerequisite for exceptional competition and battles at the highest level. Competitors from countries with traditions and serious achievements in taekwondo such as Spain, Italy, France, Germany are arriving in Sofia.
The tournament in Sofia will feature athletes in the junior, senior and cadet age groups in the Olympic discipline of Sparring.
“The fights will be held on 7 competition fields and each taekwondo fighter will be equipped with electronic equipment. Electronic gloves will also be used,” said Dimitar Mihaylov, vice president of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation (Olympic version), chief organizer of the European Grand Prix Open Ramus E6 tournament and chairman of the Ramus Taekwondo Club.
