On December 5 in Varna, Bulgaria, during the “Golden Belt” 2025 ceremony, the annual awards of the National Association of Combat Sports in Bulgaria were presented. The Bulgarian Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced its most successful athletes of the past year.

The highest distinction in the men’s category — “Best Athlete 2025” — was awarded to Chavdar Rusinov, who recorded an outstanding year with six gold medals: from the European Championship in Cyprus, the Balkan Championship in Greece, the National Championship in Panagyurishte, the National Cup in Plovdiv, the international tournament “Sarajevo Open” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the European School Combat Games in Romania. In addition to these achievements, he also won a bronze medal at the World Championship in Thailand.

In the women’s category, the “Best Athlete 2025” award was presented to Melisa Dacheva, who won seven gold medals during the year: at the World Championship in Thailand, the European Championship in Cyprus, the Balkan Championship in Greece, the National Championship in Panagyurishte, the National Cup in Plovdiv, the international tournament “Sarajevo Open,” and the European School Combat Games in Romania.

In the “Best Coach 2025” category, Venilin Rusinov was honored. Under his leadership, all athletes achieved podium finishes at national and international competitions, including European and World Championships.
