Mikey Musumeci has his next title defense scheduled, as he will face Kevin Dantzler for the bantamweight belt at UFC BJJ 8 on May 21.
The matchup will mark the first meeting between the two, and for Dantzler, it represents the biggest challenge of his career so far. While he has built a name for himself on the superfight scene, this will be his first time facing a champion of Musumeci’s caliber at such a high level.
Meanwhile, Musumeci continues to showcase complete dominance. Before transitioning to the no-gi format, he established himself as one of the most successful competitors in IBJJF history. He then carried that success into ONE Championship, where he remained undefeated in six bouts and captured the flyweight title.
After leaving ONE, Musumeci kept his momentum going with a win at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 9, and later became the first bantamweight champion following the promotion’s relaunch as UFC BJJ. Since then, he has already recorded two successful title defenses and continues to solidify his status as the division’s leader.
