Burgas has once again become a world stage for martial arts, after hosting the fifth World Tai Chi Championship.
The competition is attended by over 400 competitors from 44 countries – a record number in the history of the championship, which strengthens the city’s position as an established host of international forums of similar rank.
The competition is held in the Mladost Sports Hall and brings together the elite of tai chi from all over the world, with Bulgaria represented by a national team with ambitions for medals and a strong ranking.
Already on the first day of competition, the Bulgarian representatives recorded worthy results:
* Afalina Rarivo won a bronze medal in the 42 form (set 1) discipline, bringing Bulgaria its first distinction from the championship.
* Selin Dormusheva, who is the youngest competitor in her group, received a high score of 9.17 and took 8th place out of a total of 15 participants in the competition up to the age of 27.
These results emphasize the good preparation of the Bulgarian team and the potential of the young competitors to compete successfully at the world level.
