Traditional Wushu Championships and Sanda Cup held in Hammamet

The 4nd African Sanda Cup Championships and 3st Traditional Wushu Championships were held in Hammamet, Tunisia.

More than 150 athletes + 22 officials from 6 countries have participated - Senegal, Nigeria, Benin, Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire and Tunisia.

Mr. Sherif Mostafa welcomed those gathered and the two championships began.

We can expect 4nd Mediterranean Wushu Championship. The competition will be in Marseille, France, again.

The last years Wushu has faced criticism as a competitive sport. It has been criticized by some traditional martial artists for being too commercialized, losing many of its original values.

Now these tournaments want to prove them wrong.
