Samo Petje after his victory at the Anniversary Edition SENSHI 30: “My opponent showed incredible spirit”

On February 28 in Varna, the anniversary edition SENSHI 30 took place — an event that will go down in history with the first-ever Grand Prix tournament in the -75 kg division. In addition to the high-stakes tournament, fans witnessed three super fights under KWU Full Contact rules, delivering spectacular and closely contested battles. In one of the most anticipated bouts in the -70 kg category, Slovenian star Samo Petje secured a victory over Japan’s Hirokatsu Miyagi after an extremely dynamic clash.

Immediately after the fight, Petya Kertikova from Bulgaria ON AIR spoke with Samo exclusively for Boec.bg to hear his perspective from inside the ring. The Slovenian gave full credit to his opponent, emphasizing that Miyagi showed exceptional spirit and determination, refusing to give up despite being knocked down twice. Petje did not hide his joy after the win and admitted that the victory was especially meaningful, as it marked his return to the ring after a nine-month break in a career that now spans 18 years.

The experienced fighter thanked the fans for their support and stressed that he was happy with how his comeback at SENSHI unfolded. For him, the bout proved that he can still compete at the highest level and deliver excitement to the audience.
