Tensions ahead of SENSHI 33 escalated during the post-weigh-in press conference ahead of the fight gala at the beach arena in the resort of St. St. Constantine and Elena near Varna.
All of the participants expressed their readiness for the upcoming bouts, but the biggest attention was focused on the SENSHI Grand Prix tournament in the 95 kg division. The stakes are enormous for the eight fighters – only one will leave the arena as champion, and to claim the title, they will have to win three professional bouts in a single night.
The most intense verbal exchange came when Sharif Ben Mabrouk and Emin Ozer took the microphones. The Turkish representative issued a blunt warning to his opponent:
“You will be broken.”
Ben Mabrouk, however, remained composed and urged Ozer not to waste his energy before the fight.
“Stay calm. The fight is tomorrow, not today. Don’t waste your energy. I’ll show you what I’m capable of tomorrow.”
The tension between the two fighters remained until the very end of the press conference, with neither missing an opportunity to trade more sharp words with his opponent.
Among the competitors in the Grand Prix tournament is Bulgarian fighter Eduard Aleksanyan, who displayed plenty of confidence ahead of the major challenge.
“I’m ready. I can’t wait to step into the ring tomorrow, and everyone needs to be ready for me,” Aleksanyan said.
The Bulgarian fighter believes he has what it takes to make it through all three bouts and capture the prestigious title. This will be Aleksanyan’s first appearance in a tournament format of this kind, but he emphasized that he feels no pressure and is ready to give the home crowd something to celebrate.
The 70 kg division at SENSHI 33 will also feature Simeon Nakovski, who is set to make his debut with the organization.
“I’m ready for the fight. I always step in there to win. I want to prove myself in the organization, and I can’t wait for my SENSHI 33 debut,” Nakovski said.
His opponent will be Pedro Granja, who also showed confidence ahead of the clash. The Portuguese fighter said he is fully prepared for a tough battle and that his only objective is victory.
All of the words, however, will be left behind once the fighters step into the ring. Tomorrow, the talking will give way to action, and the winners will be decided between the ropes.
